The name Shahidi, derived from the Swahili word meaning “witness”, reflects our commitment to documenting reality, amplifying community voices, and delivering factual reporting that contributes to informed public discourse.

Shahidi Digital is an emerging online media platform dedicated to producing in-depth feature stories, documentaries, explainers and multimedia journalism on issues shaping people’s lives, livelihoods and the environment.
Built as the digital extension of the Shahidi TV, Shahidi Digital focuses on public-interest storytelling across health, agriculture, science, environment and climate change. The platform is designed to go beyond daily headlines by documenting the human stories, evidence and policy questions behind some of the most pressing development challenges facing communities.
